Pete Galvich                                                                    

 

Pete Galvich began swimming in 1957 for the Riviera Swim Club at the age of 6. His father, Johnny Galvich, taught him how to swim and entered him into his first One Mile Swim at age of 6. After his father passed away, he continued to swim for the Jordan Y, IAC,  and the Indiana Aquatic Club in Bloomington.
Pete made his first National's cut at the age of 14 in the 1500 freestyle.
National Age Group Record 1650 Freestyle
Pete was
National Junior Long Distance Champion in 1965
Several Junior Olympic Championships.
He also held several Indiana State & City Age Group Records.
One time Indiana State Age Group DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP
He specialized in the freestyle, breastroke and I.M...acutally anything except backstroke.
Pete has enjoyed swimming Masters as well as coaching.
