The 1952 IAC women's team participated
in the AAU National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida, with the
team and family staying on the beach at the Ocean Heights Motel. |

The 1952 Olympic Trials were held in
Indianapolis at the Broad Ripple Pool, and Judy Roberts made the team
placing second in the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:07.2. |

|
|
The 1952 Olympic Team departed from
Indianapolis to fly to Helsinki, Finland. The Coach of the 1952 Team was
Dick Papenguth and the Team Manager was Ed Aspinall...Patty's father. |

The IAC's Women Team returned to
Daytona Beach, Florida for the 1953 AAU National Championships. |

At the 1953 National
Championships, Judy Roberts won the 100 yard freestyle in 59.2 breaking
the American Record. |
Judy Roberts again captured the long
course 110 yard freestyle in another American record! |

Coach Clark continued to develop
young swimmers, and the women's team kept growing.

|
Members of the outstanding 400 medley relay team --
Betsy Turner, Cookie Morrison, Judy Roberts and Doris Rock--were among
those who trained for the 1953 summer nations in Portland, Oregon. Some
team members flew out to Portland, some took the train and four of us
drove two days and two nights with Papa Hancock and Bernadine Roberts in
the Hancock Limousine or "limo |

IAC won the 4th straight state team
title at the Indiana Age Group Championships. Pictures are: Ailbe Burke
and Gail Moll in the back row. Young Annie Reel (Patty Aspinall's
daughter) is in the front row along with Greg Mutz, Bob Mueller and
Johnny (Wyatt) Earp. |

IAC Women's Team Captains were Pat Moll, Betsy Turner
and Linda Barton. |

The IAC men competed against top
collegiate programs in Indiana/Midwest and periodically traveled out
East. This is a star 400 medley relay with Ron Johnson, Tom Lord, Frank
McKinney and Dick Wertz. |

Frank McKinney used an unconventional bent-arm
backstroke pull and made waves on the National scene breaking the world
record for the 200 backstroke when he was only 15 years old. |
|
|
The 1955 Pan American Team included
IAC's first Pan-American Gold medalist Judy Roberts who was a key member
of the USA's 400 freestyle relay. |
|
In 1956, two IAC backstrokers--Frank McKinney and
Mary Anne Marchino--made the Olympic Team
and competed in Melbourne, Australia.
